Who serves Mandeville

Our Slidell office serves Mandeville. We do not have an office in the city. The trip is about 20 miles and usually takes 25 to 30 minutes along I-12 West. Actual travel time depends on the address, time of day, construction and weather, and we do not promise arrival times.
Lone Wolf Roofing is a woman-owned and family-owned company. Our crews handle roofing in Mandeville for the homes this page describes: older properties in and near Old Mandeville, houses along the Lakeshore Drive area, and properties along the N. Causeway Boulevard corridor. We do not claim a single roof type for the whole city, because we have no verified citywide breakdown.

Mandeville runs its own permit process

Mandeville was founded in 1834 and incorporated in 1840. It is a city with its own Planning and Development department, and that office handles building permits. A re-roof here does not follow Jefferson Parish’s process or the City of Covington’s process.
The City publishes Building Permit Information and a Building Permit Application on its website. The current fee, required documents, inspection rules and code edition must be confirmed with the City.
A free inspection is not permit approval or code certification. If you are planning a full replacement, our roof replacement page explains what the work involves.

Old Mandeville and historic review

Old Mandeville is centered on Girod Street, near landmarks such as the Dew Drop Social and Benevolent Hall and Ruby’s Roadhouse. The City’s Historic Preservation District Commission enforces Design Guidelines for additions, exterior renovations and new construction inside its district.
Two things are not settled. We have not confirmed that Old Mandeville and the district boundary are the same area. We also have not confirmed that the guidelines cover roof replacement or roofing materials. If your home is in the older lakefront area, ask the City whether the district applies before you choose materials. Our roof repair page covers smaller fixes.

Lake Pontchartrain, the seawall and your roof

Mandeville sits on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Its low lakefront is protected by a 5-foot seawall. Hurricanes Katrina (2005), Isaac (2012) and Ida (2021) caused flooding here, and the city later adopted building-elevation and floodplain rules.
Lake surge is a different problem from river flooding, and it varies by address. A roof inspection looks at shingles, flashing, penetrations and gutters. It cannot give you a flood zone, a base flood elevation or a flood-insurance requirement. Those come from address-level FEMA and City records. A new roof will not fix storm surge, drainage limits or foundation flooding.
If wind or rain has damaged your roof, see our storm damage restoration page and our roof insurance claims page. For a closer look at your roof, start with a roof inspection.

Mailing ZIPs do not settle the city

Mandeville’s ZIP codes include 70448, 70471 and 70433. ZIP 70433 is shared with Covington, and the other ZIPs may extend outside city limits. A mailing address alone does not tell you which city, and therefore which permit office, applies. Use the City’s own records.
Our Covington page covers a neighboring north-shore community. The Tammany Trace, which runs from Covington through Mandeville, links the two towns.

What the workmanship warranty covers

Lone Wolf Roofing backs its installations with a 100-Year Workmanship Warranty. It covers problems caused by faulty or improper workmanship from our installation, as defined in the written terms. The 100 years applies to workmanship coverage. It does not mean a roof or roofing material is expected to last 100 years.
Manufacturer warranties are separate and cover eligible materials under the manufacturer’s terms. The workmanship warranty can be transferred one time to the next homeowner. Coverage is subject to the written warranty’s eligibility requirements, terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions. Read the full terms on the 100-Year Workmanship Warranty page.

Frequently asked questions

Does a home in Old Mandeville need Historic Preservation District Commission review before new roofing?
It depends on the address. The Commission enforces Design Guidelines for exterior work inside its district, and most of the city is outside it. Whether those guidelines address roofing has not been confirmed, so check with the City.
The inspection looks at roof covering, flashing, penetrations and gutters, and separates those from lake surge or foundation moisture. It does not determine a flood zone or elevation. Those are address-level records.
