Roofing services for Belle Chasse homes

Roof repair

Leaks, damaged shingles, and failed flashing can let water into the home. A repair fixes the problem area without replacing the whole roof. Rubber vent boots and old sealant are common weak spots on roofs of this age. If the damage is widespread, we will tell you. See roof repair.

Roof replacement

When a roof is worn out or too damaged to repair, a full replacement is the answer. Your estimate lays out the scope of the work. Replacing a 25-year-old roof also lets us check the wood underneath. See roof replacement.

Storm damage restoration

Wind and heavy rain can damage shingles, flashing, soffit, and fascia. We inspect the damage and help you understand the next steps, including the insurance claim process. Take photos before any cleanup. See storm damage restoration and roof insurance claims.

IBHS FORTIFIED roofing

FORTIFIED is a program for building roofs to a stronger standard, and we are an IBHS FORTIFIED Roofing Contractor. If you are replacing anyway, it is worth pricing both ways. See FORTIFIED roofing.

Roof inspections

An inspection tells you the condition of your roof and whether it needs repair, replacement, or nothing yet. It is free. We check the shingles, flashing, gutters, and attic vents. It does not tell you your flood zone. See roof inspection.

Commercial roofing

We also work on commercial buildings. We install, replace, and repair commercial roofs. We also offer roof coating. See commercial roofing.

Ida spared Belle Chasse more than most of Plaquemines. Don’t count on that twice.

Ida came ashore in 2021 as a Category 4 hurricane just west of Plaquemines Parish. The Plaquemines Gazette reported that in Belle Chasse and the northern end of the parish, structural damage was minimal. The worst damage was in the smaller communities to the south, and Belle Chasse’s auditorium served as an evacuation center.
That was luck of the track, not a guarantee. A Category 4 landfall nearby can mean damaged shingles and loose flashing even where houses stay standing. Your roof’s age and condition matter more than where the last storm happened to hit.

Plaquemines Parish roof permits and photo inspections

Roof permits in Belle Chasse go through Plaquemines Parish Government. The Belle Chasse Permits Office is at 333 F. Edward Hebert Blvd., Building 300, phone 504-934-6195, and the parish’s permits page lists a Residential Roofing section. Call and ask what a roof replacement needs and what it costs.
Many Louisiana parishes now accept dated, location-stamped photos of the work in place of an in-person roofing inspection. A 2023 state law (Act 252) allows code officials to do this. Ask your roofer whether the parish requires photos and who takes them, and ask for copies for your records.
Louisiana also requires roofers to hold a state license. Ask any roofer for their license number.
warranty certificate

100-Year Workmanship Warranty

Lone Wolf Roofing backs its installations with a 100-Year Workmanship Warranty. When the job is finished, you get a certificate showing coverage for 100 years from the date printed on it. The warranty applies to covered problems caused by faulty or improper workmanship in our installation.
It does not cover how long the roof or materials last, and manufacturer warranties on materials are separate. If you sell your home, the workmanship warranty can pass to the new owner one time. Eligibility rules, conditions, limits, and exclusions in the written warranty apply. Read the full terms on the 100-Year Workmanship Warranty page.
Keep your certificate. It also gets you 15% off future siding, patio, or other exterior projects with Lone Wolf Roofing.

Belle Chasse roofing FAQ

Where do I go for a roof permit in Belle Chasse?
Plaquemines Parish Government’s Belle Chasse Permits Office is at 333 F. Edward Hebert Blvd., Building 300, phone 504-934-6195. The parish’s permits page lists a Residential Roofing section. Call and ask what a roof replacement needs and what it costs. Before you sign with any roofer, ask who applies for the permit.
Louisiana law (Act 252 of 2023) lets code officials accept dated, location-stamped photos for roofing inspections, and many parishes ask for them instead of sending an inspector. The photos usually show the old roof coming off, the decking, the underlayment, and the finished roofing materials. Ask your roofer whether the parish requires them, and ask for copies. They can also help if you ever need to show an insurer or a buyer what was done.
Very likely. A roof from the 1990s is 26 years old or more, past the middle of the 15-to-30-year range for asphalt shingles. Signs it is done include curling or cracked shingles, a lot of shingle grit in the gutters, leaks in more than one place, and a sagging section. A few cracked shingles on a young roof usually just need a repair. If you cannot tell which one you have, a free inspection will.
It depends on the roof’s condition and your timeline. A roof near the end of its life can slow a sale or lower an offer, and an inspection report tells you where you stand. If you replace it, our workmanship warranty can pass to the new owner one time, which gives a buyer something in writing. Veterans and active military members can also ask about our 10% appreciation discount. Mention it when you contact us, and we will explain how it applies before work begins.
The Louisiana Fortify Homes Program offers grants of up to $10,000 toward a FORTIFIED Roof, awarded by lottery in rounds that open for certain parishes. You need a wind insurance policy and, as reported, a primary residence with a homestead exemption. If your home is in a mapped flood hazard area, you also need flood insurance. Do not start work, including tear-off, before you are accepted. Check ldi.la.gov for current rounds and whether Plaquemines Parish is open.
